Greetings and welcome to the Faculty of Education (FoE) at Far Western University (FWU), Nepal.

Far Western University is a distinguished institution for higher education located in Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal. Despite encountering various challenges, it has made considerable progress in enhancing the quality of education within the Sudurpaschim province and across Nepal since its establishment. The educational landscape in Nepal is presently facing critical issues, where quality education that is grounded in Nepali values and realities has become increasingly scarce. Far Western University aspires to be a hub for quality education and the development of a comprehensive educational system. Our educational philosophy emphasizes a commitment to the integrated development of core values that promote inclusivity, equity, indigenous perspectives, justice, research, and innovation.

The Faculty of Education offers a range of programs, including Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Master of Education (M.Ed.), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil. leading to Ph.D.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). The FoE is dedicated to equipping students with a robust grounding in both theoretical and practical aspects of education, thereby preparing them for careers in teaching and applied research. Our objective is to enable students to excel in their chosen professions and to cultivate their competencies for success in both national and international markets. We strive to impart the knowledge, skills, abilities, and values essential for contemporary classrooms and beyond, while encouraging a lifelong commitment to teaching and nurturing prospective academic leaders and researchers.

We are proud to have a highly esteemed and accomplished team of faculty members who actively engage in teaching and research. Our experienced educators inspire students to excel in diverse fields and to approach global challenges with confidence. The Faculty of Education is committed to fostering a strong connection between students and faculty, creating an inclusive educational environment conducive to the generation of innovative ideas and concepts.

Nonetheless, we acknowledge that significant challenges persist and are dedicated to identifying effective strategies to address the obstacles faced by our schools and communities in a thorough, empirical, and practical manner. A strong foundation in school education is essential; without it, social and educational transformation will remain elusive. To achieve our mission, the Faculty of Education, which stands as a beacon of pride for the region, must be robust, capable, and research-oriented.

As the Dean of the Faculty of Education, I am confident that we will realize our objectives through the collaborative efforts of students, scholars, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
