Greetings and welcome to the Faculty of Education (FoE), Far Western University (FWU), Nepal! FWU is a leading institution in the field of Higher Education of Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal. Despite its various challenges, it has made significant efforts to improve the quality of education in Far West as well as in Nepal within a short period of its establishment. Education in Nepal is passing through a very critical phase as quality education based on Nepali value system and ground reality has become a rarity. Far Western University is a destination for quality education and development of holistic education system. The focus of our educational philosophy as our goal is a commitment to the integrated development of the core values of a culture of inclusiveness, equity, indigenousness, justice, research and innovation. We have been conducting B.Ed., M.Ed., M.Phil, M.Phil leading to Ph.D. and Ph.D. programmes under the Faculty of Education. The FOE have been training students well in academic theory and practice, preparing them for careers in both teaching and applied research. At the same time, it aims to prepare learners to excel in the career of their choice and to become professional and competent in both the national and global markets. We aim to equip students with the knowledge, skills, abilities and values they need for today's classroom and beyond, to cultivate students' devotion to teaching as a life-long career, and to nurture future academic leaders and researchers. We have a strong and reputable team of faculty members. They are active in teaching as well as in research work. Our experienced faculties inspire students to excel in every field of human activity, and to face the world in the best possible way. The faculty of education aims to foster a bond between students and their teachers and to create a cohesive educational environment where new ideas and innovative concepts can flourish. However, we have many challenges ahead; we are trying our best to overcome the obstacles. In comparison to the past, today need to find better ways to address the challenges facing our schools and communities in a deep, empirical and practical way. Unless the foundation of school education is strong, social and educational transformation is just a fantasy. For this, the education faculty of the university, which is the pride of the region, needs to be strong, capable and research-oriented. As the Dean of the Faculty of Education, I am confident that the goal of the faculty will be achieved through the collaborative efforts of the students, scholars, faculties, staff and other stakeholders. As the Dean of the Faculty of Education, I am honoured to have the opportunity to serve this scholarly community made up of distinguished professional faculties and multi-talented learners.
