Bachelor's in Technical and Vocational Teacher Education (B. TVTE) opportunity at Far Western University! Far Western University's Faculty of Education is launching a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program in Technical and Vocational Teacher Education, with a focus on pedagogy. This program is designed for individuals currently teaching in technical and vocational schools or institutions, as well as for those aspiring to become teachers in the future. Program Features: 1. Full scholarship! 2. The dual-track method will allow student-teachers to continue their teaching work at their regular workplace (Professional Track) and participate in the university's academic program (Academic Track) integrated teaching system. 3. Teaching will be done through blended methods (physical, online and workplace teaching and mentoring). 4. Qualification: At least a diploma from an institution recognised by the Government of Nepal or CTEVT. 5. Preference will be given to those who have worked as instructors in technical institutions and have TVET experience. 6. The training and prior experience will be converted into credits by evaluating and calculating (RPL), and the remaining courses will be provided after gap analysis. 7. It will have multiple entry and exit points, for example, Certificate I and II, Associate Diploma Degree, Advanced Diploma and B.Ed. in TVTE. 8. It will have a credit bank and a credit transfer. 9. This course can be advanced to a master's degree later. The Professional Bachelor of Education (P.B.Ed.) program: Far Western University offers a blended mode (combining online learning with in-person sessions) to make teacher education more accessible, especially in remote areas of Nepal. This flexible approach allows individuals to pursue a professional degree conveniently while continuing their work or studies. The program integrates theoretical and practical coursework throughout the academic years, equipping future teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills for the teaching profession. Its primary objective is to develop competent teachers for school-level education. The P.B.Ed. program is structured into two semesters and is designed for those currently working as school teachers, aspiring educators, or individuals with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in non-education fields seeking to broaden their career opportunities in education. This course is specifically designed for individuals who already possess theoretical knowledge in a specialized subject and wish to enter the teaching profession or education sector. It offers both teaching skills and an academic degree, preparing student teachers for the challenges of modern education. The ultimate goal of the program is to foster strong educational leadership in teachers, ensuring they are equipped not only with teaching skills but also with the ability to lead effectively within educational settings. The program employs a variety of teaching methods, including group and individual interactions, self-directed learning materials, and the use of information technology. It also provides opportunities for student teachers to enhance their teaching skills through both simulated and real classroom experiences. Admission Criteria Far Western University's Faculty of Education offers admission to the Professional B.Ed. program through an entrance exam, coordinated with the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Education, at the respective campus or department. Applicants must have a minimum of 40% marks or a C+ grade in their bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognized university. Additionally, students with a bachelor’s degree in fields other than language, mathematics, science, and ICT are also eligible, provided they meet the same minimum grade requirements.

B.Ed. is a bachelor's degree taken to take up teaching in schools as a profession. Keeping this aspect in the policy, Sudurpaschim University is conducting B.Ed. program in all 16 campuses under the Faculty of Education. Under this, graduation programs are in operation in English, Nepali, Mathematics, Health and Physical Education and CSIT in Education. Basically B.Ed. is a professional curriculum based program. This program aims to produce skilled human resources for the school level. Besides ensuring professional development of the students as future teachers, the University lays emphasis on excellence in teaching and learning, high achievement levels, all round development of personality, self-reliance, innovation and introduction of new technologies in pursuit of higher ideals.

Masters Programs

Course Details

Master of Education (M.Ed.) is a two-year program based on semester system conducted by the Faculty of Education, Far Western University. This program has a total of four semesters. It divides the course content into core courses, specializations, teaching practices and theses. Students must study a total of 66 credit hours. The main objective of this program is to create skilled and professional manpower from school to college. Also, besides ensuring the professional development of students as future teachers, the university emphasizes excellence in teaching and learning, high achievement levels, all-round development of personality, self-reliance, interest in research, innovation and introduction of new technologies in pursuit of higher ideals. Under this, the Faculty of Education has provided courses based on English Education, Nepali Education, Mathematics Education, Health and Physical Education, Special Need Education (SNE), Curriculum, Planning and Leadership (CPL).
